Description

Creamy, cheesy Chicken Mac and Cheese made with tender chicken, sharp cheddar, and golden baked topping. A hearty comfort dish loved by all ages.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni

  • 1 lb cooked chicken breast (diced or shredded)

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter

  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups whole milk

  • 1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • ¼ tsp paprika

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: breadcrumbs or cream cheese for topping


Instructions

  • Cook macaroni in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  • In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour to form a roux.

  • Gradually add milk, whisking until thickened.

  • Stir in cheddar, mozzarella, Parmesan, and seasonings until smooth.

  • Fold in cooked pasta and chicken until evenly coated.

  • Transfer to a baking dish, top with extra cheese or breadcrumbs if desired.

 

  • Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes, or serve hot from the stovetop.

Notes

  • For extra creaminess, stir in 2 oz cream cheese before baking.

  • Add buffalo sauce for a spicy twist.
